Wedding Receptions

Wedding receptions may follow the theme of the wedding itself or take off in a completely different direction. For example you may have a traditional wedding with candle lighting ceremony and flowers and bows but choose to have a 50’s theme for the reception. This can be accomplished by choosing music and food to compliment your theme. Bar-b-q and some oldies but goodies music would set the stage for your memorable evening.

If your guest will be served a full meal at your reception, you may want to offer hors d' oeuvres during the first hour of the reception. Of course if you are having a tea or cocktail reception, hors d' oeuvres will be the "main course."

If serving only hors d' oeuvres, they may be served either buffet style or passed around on trays by waiters and waitresses. Foods that can be easily picked up and eaten with one hand are popular for this kind of reception. What will be served and when depends on the formality of the reception and the type of food being served.

Similar guidelines apply for a full meal reception. Meals can be served with waiters and waitresses sit down style, or again you could serve the meal buffet style.
